Does 7-Eleven do Money Orders?

As 7-Eleven is a convenience store and not a bank, no savings account is needed to purchase a money order. You can simply visit your nearest store and request a money order. Western Union and MoneyGram are the two types of money orders available at 7-Eleven. The type of money order you receive depends on the location of the store. Some stores have access to Vcom ATM money centers, which can be used to purchase money orders. A 7-Eleven money order can be purchased only by cash. Credit cards and debit cards are not accepted for a money-order transaction. There is a limit on the amount of each money order you can purchase. You can purchase a money order up to $500.00 per money order. To buy a money order, you need to pay a fee at the rate of 1-3% of the total amount of money order. At almost all locations, the fee is $0.75 for each transaction up to $500.00.

Tracking

If you have purchased a money order, the status can be tracked on MoneyGram or Western Union. Any questions or concerns you have can be dealt with MoneyGram or Western Union once the purchase is made. If the money order you purchased has not been utilized, you can receive it yourself if the recipient’s information is yet to be filled. If the information is filled in, the issuing agency needs to be contacted. The issuing agency will help you cancel the money order. It takes approximately 7-8 weeks for the refund to be processed. There is a processing fee for the cancellation of money orders. The 7-11 store does not cash money orders, nor do they refund.

You can track your money order by writing to either MoneyGram or Western Union, depending on the money order you have purchased. If it is a Western Union Money order, you will need to fill a Western Union money order research request form and mail it to their office with a processing fee of $30, which is non-refundable. Similarly, if the money order is a MoneyGram money order, you need to fill the money order search form and mail it to their office with a processing fee of $40, which is non-refundable. If the MoneyGram receipt is lost, MoneyGram cannot do much to track your money. Hence, you need to keep the money receipt safe until you ensure the money order has been encashed.
